Slowly separate the two pieces of tape; this should cause the backing liner and film to separate. APPLYING MOISTURE TO THE FILM & WINDOW Spraying an ample amount of water is crucial for a successful installation. Ensure that both the film and the window surface are fully saturated and almost flooded with water. Remember, a thoroughly wet window and film are key to preventing bubbles during installation. When separating the film from the backing liner, generously spray a soapy water solution on the exposed adhesive side. This will help prevent wrinkles and bubbles from forming during or after installation. As you gently pull the liner away, continue spraying the exposed adhesive side to prevent the film from sticking to itself. REMOVING THE FILM, IF NEEDED Installed adhesive window film can be removed, even after several years. To remove the film, you need to soften the cured or hardened adhesive. This can be achieved by using a fabric steamer or a heat gun to heat up the film, loosening the adhesive. Alternatively, a hairdryer can also be used, although it may take longer to achieve the desired result. If any residue remains, clean it with a combination of soapy water and a razor blade. On the other hand, static cling film does not have adhesive and can be easily removed by hand.
